Level 4/5 Diploma in Computing

The Level 4/5 Diploma in Computing, serves as the equivalent of the first year within the UK university system. This qualification empowers students to embark on careers in both IT and Business sectors, equipping them with the essential knowledge anticipated by the industry. Moreover, it enables learners to apply these acquired skills to a diverse array of IT-related functions, facilitating not only entry into these professions but also fostering continuous career progression as they adapt and employ their skills in evolving professional landscapes. The NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing is a recognised Higher Technical Qualification.

Entry Requirements

Candidates applying for this programme must

  • Must be 18 years or over at the start of the course.
  • Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Applicants will be required to demonstrate English language proficiency equivalent to CEFR Level B2. If you are uncertain about how you may satisfy this requirement then please visit FAQs about English Language Expectation for BTEC Higher Nationals from Pearson.
  • Students must also give an Interview and a Diagnostic Assessment at the College.

English Requirements

Holders of the NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES). 

Holders of the NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Computing (L3DC) (RQF). 

Holders of any local or international qualification deemed to be a similar level to either L3DC or L3IFDHES. I would like to let you know that these are to be agreed in advance with NCC Education.  

Holders of one ‘A’ level or equivalent or an appropriate School Leaver’s certificate deemed to be of a similar level passed and approved by NCC Education.

Mature students, able to demonstrate over two years’ relevant work experience and have an ‘O’ Level/GCSE/iGCSE English and Maths or equivalent. 

For candidates whose first language is not English:  

  • IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.  

OR 

  • GCSE/iGCSE ‘O’ Level English ‘C’ ‘4’ or equivalent* 

OR 

  • Alternatively, students can take and pass the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test, at one of our Accredited Partner Centres. 

Application and Selection Process

The application process allows the admissions team to select applicants meeting the above entry qualifications and demonstrating English Language competency. The admissions team will consider applications on a case-by-case basis.

Applicants should submit an application form and present the required documents. The registrar will invite the applicants onsite, where they must

  • Write a personal statement, answering a few short questions in their handwriting
  • Attend an informal interview based on their statement

Successful applicants will receive admission offers with an invitation to show evidence of how they will pay the tuition fees for the program.
