This course is designed to encourage those and to understand while gaining the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. It covers children’s growth, learning and development. This is for someone who has no formal qualifications but is able to perform work within the levels, the employee/trainee who will work under the supervision within a teamed environment, receiving guidance and support at all times.

Who is it suitable for?

Suitable for students who are considering a career in childcare. It also supports students with re-engaging with learning and breaking down barriers to students entering the childcare workforce. E.G. nursery and childminder.

What are the main requirements for entrance ?

Entry requirements vary depending on the course level, with some providers and employers requiring four/five GCSE grade Cs or above, including maths and English. Alternatively, you may be able to start this job through an apprenticeship or trainee scheme.

Level 1, 2 and 3

Giving each child individual attention and comfort as required. Basic duties including food preps, cleaning and gardens. Assisting in the implications of the children’s program under supervision. Assisting in the daily care routines and jobs given.

Where can I progress onto next?

After completing your qualification, you can progress onto related qualifications. Whether you are looking into becoming a nursery practitioner, child and adolescent psychiatrist, child care worker and childminder.

What is the price for this qualification?

The Caring for Children qualification Level 1, 2, 3 for 16-18 year olds is free under the government and training providers, 19-23 year olds to 24+ costing around £600+.

How long does it take?

First Aider at Work is a 3 day course either back to back or spread out over 3 weeks totaling 18 hours training
